Ray Lewis Joins Fox as NFL Analyst After 3 Years with ESPN | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis is reportedly set to join Fox Sports after spending three years with ESPN as an NFL analyst.
Michael McCarthy of Sporting News first reported the news Tuesday and noted an official announcement was expected on the Fox Sports 1 debate show Undisputed. That program's star, Skip Bayless, confirmed Lewis would make an appearance.
Along with Undisputed, the 13-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time Super Bowl champion is also expected to make regular appearances on FS1's The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Speak for Yourself and First Things First, which will debut in September, according to McCarthy.
The report made no mention of Lewis' becoming a full-time member of Fox's pregame show on Sunday afternoon.
He'd appeared on both Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown during his time at ESPN before being let go last year.
Lewis was a stalwart member of the Ravens for 17 years after the franchise took him with the 26th pick in the 1996 NFL draft. He earned numerous accolades, including the Super Bowl XXXV MVP Award, and is a candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
He's struggled to make the same type of impact since making the move to television, however. That said, the more limited, opinion-based role he appears ticketed for at Fox Sports should make for a better fit than his time at ESPN.
