Sam Thompson’s first job was in Made in Chelsea, when he worked for his friend Jamie Laing’s business, Candy Kittens. He’s now become “relevant” (his words) in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. It all started when Sam made the party invite list with his sister Louise Thompson’s King’s Road clan.

Sam Thompson‘s first job was in Made in Chelsea, when he worked as an intern for Jamie Laing’s confectionery brand, Candy Kittens. The sweets are the UK’s second fastest-growing confectionery brand!
He was seen carrying out tasks such as picking up Jamie’s dry cleaning on the E4 show in 2013. It wasn’t long before Sam became a key cast member on MIC – and now has a reported £1 million net worth.
He was previously educated at Bradfield College and said on I’m A Celebrity that he remembers “crying” into his textbook at school because he could not understand the words, due to having ADHD.
Made in Chelsea to I’m A Celebrity fame
Sam quickly launched to fame after Made in Chelsea. He came third in the 2017 series of Celebrity Big Brother and in 2018 he appeared in Celebs Go Dating alongside fellow Made in Chelsea star Ollie Locke.
In 2021, he then appeared on Channel 4‘s Celebrity Circle with best friend Pete Wicks. He has also made guest appearances on the likes of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Sunday Brunch and CelebAbility.
Sam is also the co-host of the Love Island podcast, as well as Staying Relevant with Pete Wicks, in which he told him that he’s “going into the jungle” before adding: “We’re going to be relevant!”
Jamie Laing and Sam Thompson
Jamie Laing and Sam have been close friends for years. However, they’ve faced some difficult times, such as when Jamie decided to get into a relationship with Sophie Habboo, Sam’s ex-girlfriend.
The two got into a disagreement over the matter, but have since repaired their friendship. Sam was present at Jamie and Sophie’s wedding in 2023 with his girlfriend Zara McDermott.
When the two tied the knot, Sam shared the throwback clip of him telling Jamie: “You don’t even like her that much. I wish you’d gone and married the girl because at least it would all be for something.”
