Serial Killer Shawn Grate – He Was Charged With 23 Murders

A serial murderer, Shawn Grate, targeted ladies to steal their money. He would become aggressive if they turned down his request.

On Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT, the prominent true-crime channel Oxygen aired the episode’s debut.

American serial killer Shawn Grate, who lived in Marion, Ohio, was apprehended and found guilty in 2016 of the horrible crime of savagely murdering five people.

Viewers have been excited to see how the hair-raising true story played out since Oxygen released the official promo for the fifth episode of Living With A Serial Killer Season 2.

In 2016, he was found guilty of killing five women. He had a reputation as a charmer as an adolescent, which concealed his sinister side.

According to autopsy records, Grate killed his victims between 2006 and 2016 by strangling and viciously beating and stabbing them.

When a woman dialed 911 to request assistance after Grate kidnapped her in September 2016, he was apprehended.

Who is Shawn Grate?

American serial killer Shawn Grate hails from Marion, Ohio. 

According to reports, he killed five people, including Stacey Stanley, 43, Elizabeth Griffith, 29, Candice Cunningham, 31, Rebekah Leicy, and 23-year-old Dana Nicole Lowrey.

His horrible murderous rampage is said to have started in 2006 and continued until 2016, the year he was found guilty. 

According to the autopsy results, the five victims’ deaths were caused by strangulation. Additionally, he violently battered and stabbed a number of his victims.

He is accused of abducting a 38-year-old lady in September 2016 who has only been identified as “Jane Doe.” Shawn continued to harass and assault her for three days in a row.

On September 11, 2019, he was later found guilty of murdering Dana Lowrey and was given another lifetime imprisonment without parole with an additional 16 years behind bars.

Shawn Grate is currently 45 years old and imprisoned at Chillicothe Correctional Institution, where he is serving his life sentence. His death sentence is set to be executed in 2025.

Thankfully, the victim was able to call 911 and request assistance. Police were able to apprehend the vile serial killer from the Yellow Ashland home thanks to her 911 call.

Shawn was charged with a total of 23 counts throughout his trial. 

The frightening serial killer was found responsible for the murders of Elizabeth Griffith and Stacey Stanley, and on June 1 of this year, the court sentenced him to death.

Later, on March 1, 2019, Grate entered a plea guilty to the cruel deaths of Rebekah Leisy and Candice Cunningham. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release.
