There is a new documentary out about Sylvester Stallone and, in it, the actor has revealed how he suffered a serious neck injury during the shoot of 'The Expendables', back in 2009.
In one scene, the then-62-year-old was fighting wrestling legend 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and suffered a hairline fracture, requiring a permanent metal plate to be inserted into his neck.

In the new Netflix documentary 'Sly', the actor has been reflecting on how that stunt seriously changed his life.
"Truthfully, I never fully recovered," he revealed in the documentary.
"It did such a number on my body, I've never been the same. Never.
"Was it really worth it? Are you doing this for people's approval?
"Really, that's almost like a child needing a pat on their head by their father. That's constant encouragement. But it's true."

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stallone's long-time competitor and friend, also shared his thoughts on that incident in 'The Expendables', which the Austrian-American also featured in.
"It's not uncommon for an action hero to get injured on set, but I think it is clear that Sylvester drove it to the extreme, which I thought was too much," Schwarzenegger said.
