Teen Kelsey Collins Went Missing After Testifying Against Pimp
Kelsey had been an unfortunate victim of circumstance. Like any teen, she also had dreams and a future to build on, but all of her plans suddenly dissipated when she disappeared from public view.
Her case quickly caught national attention and drew a massive outpouring of concern from the public.
It soon surfaced that she had been part of a group of teens caught up in petty crime and drug abuse – something Kelsey’s family had sought to rupture themselves from only years before.
Warrants for missing persons and search teams were formed but eventually, all investigations led to dead ends.
Sarah was brought to the frightening realization that she had not been able to protect her children from the psychological, physical, and emotional abuse inflicted by her husband.
In seeking freedom from her home life, Kelsey’s flight into self-destruction became evident as she ran away, began drug trafficking, skipped school, and disrespected authority figures.
The downward spiral deepened when Kelsey met an older man who promised to take care of her. Unfortunately, under his influence, Kelsey was soon convinced to become a prostituted woman.
At the moment of her detainment for solicitation, it became blatantly clear that Kelsey desperately needed help specifically tailored for trauma survivors in order to rebuild a healthy life for herself outside of this tragic chapter in her life.
Even though Kelsey’s death was a tragedy, the legal system had an obligation to uphold justice for her and the other victims of her case.
