New City, NY – In a shocking incident that has left the community reeling, a family of four was found dead in their home in an apparent murder-suicide. Watson Morgan, a 49-year-old sergeant with the Bronxville Police Department, his wife Ornela Morgan, 43, and their two young sons, aged 10 and 12, were discovered with gunshot wounds early Saturday morning.

Clarkstown Police Department officers responded to a welfare check at the family’s residence on 10 Clydesdale Ct. in New City just after midnight on December 30, 2023. Upon entry, they found all four family members deceased.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Watson Morgan killed his wife and two children before turning the gun on himself. A handgun was recovered at the scene. While investigations are ongoing, the Clarkstown Police Department has assured the public that this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community.

The news has sent shockwaves through both the local community and the Bronxville Police Department, where Sgt. Morgan was known as a dedicated officer. The tragic incident underscores the importance of mental health support and resources, especially for those in high-stress professions.
