A hospital in San Antonio, Texas, took in Zaid after he was transferred there from his prior residence in Mexico.

He received treatment for his fourth-degree burns at this clinic, which saved his life. Zaid remarked, “I want to inspire others with my tale. And demonstrate that miracles are real.”

He said, “When I was two and a half years old. My mother put me to bed, and a candle fell. And it started a fire.”
